La serie consiste en un diario escrito-visual desarrollado entre el 15-M español y los movimientos globales inmediatamente previos a la pandemia de covid-19. Dicho de otra manera, Fotoescrituras (2011-2019) (Dedicado a Allan Sekula) recorre un paisaje global que transcurre entre la crisis financiera de 2007 y la crisis de salud pública de 2020, pasando por las eclosiones de la nueva ola global feminista, el movimiento transnacional por la justicia climática, e incluso por el duelo colectivo espontáneo que tuvo lugar en Las Ramblas de Barcelona la noche posterior al atentado terrorista de 2017. Está compuesta por fotografías tomadas y anotaciones escritas por Marcelo Expósito en Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, Buenos Aires, Málaga y Río de Janeiro.
Las imágenes de Fotoescrituras (2011-2019) (Dedicado a Allan Sekula) buscan ayudar a pensar diversos tipos de acontecimientos desde su interior y en tiempo real. Estos acontecimientos son tanto masivos — sucedidos en espacios públicos de gran escala— como también grupales o en situaciones colectivas más íntimas. Consisten tanto en resistencias o expresiones opositoras, como también en prácticas constructivas de organización alternativa de la experiencia colectiva o de transmisión o producción de conocimientos sobre otras maneras de habitar un mundo en situación de colapso global. Del voluminoso archivo de fotografías y anotaciones tomadas por su autor durante la década de 2010, esta serie de 10 piezas constituye la selección de un conjunto de vivencias tanto personales como políticas, existenciales y artísticas, colectivas e íntimas.
Fotoescrituras (2011-2019) (Dedicado a Allan Sekula) ha sido adquirida para formar parte del Fons Nacional de Fotografia de la Generalitat de Catalunya 2023, siendo depositada en la colección del Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA).

The series consists of a written-visual diary developed between the Spanish 15-M and the global movements immediately prior to the covid-19 pandemic. In other words, Photowritings (2011-2019) (Dedicated to Allan Sekula) covers a global landscape that runs between the financial crisis of 2007 and the public health crisis of 2020, going through the outbreaks of the new global feminist wave, the transnational movement for climate justice, and even for the spontaneous collective mourning that took place on Las Ramblas in Barcelona the night after the 2017 terrorist attack. It is made up of photographs taken and notes written by Marcelo Expósito in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Buenos Aires, Malaga and Rio de Janeiro.
The images of Photowritings (2011-2019) (Dedicated to Allan Sekula) seek to help people think about different types of events from within and in real time. These events are both massive —occurring in large-scale public spaces— as well as in groups or in more intimate collective situations. They consist of both resistance or oppositional expressions, as well as constructive practices for the alternative organization of collective experience or the transmission or production of knowledge about other ways of inhabiting a world in a situation of global collapse. From the voluminous archive of photographs and annotations taken by its author during the 2010s, this series of 10 pieces constitutes the selection of a set of personal and political, existential and artistic, collective and intimate experiences.
Photowritings (2011-2019) (Dedicated to Allan Sekula) has been acquired to form part of the National Photography Fund of the Generalitat of Catalonia 2023, being deposited in the collection of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA).
